Master of Mechanics

Cursus  : Tribology and Surface Engineering

Additive Manufacturing (Ch. Desrayaud),
Durability I (Krzysztof Wolski),
Durability II (Cédric Bosch),

1) Definition

Surface engineering aims to investigate surface properties, morphology-structure-  chemical composition, in order to improve and to develop for industrial aplications.   More   specifically, it iconsists in optimizing surface properties regarding applied loads as   friction, wear, corrosion, heat transfer, etc …

2) Program

This course is declined in 3 categories :

•About friction and wear of materials
•How to characterize surfaces
•Surface integrity

A significant number of industrial applications or case studies are used to highlight the   related theory

3) Rating
